From adventure elopements to spontaneous couple sessions, our six epic concepts are carefully crafted and styled to attract dream clients – those wild wandering lovers. From a surfing engagement session to a full-scale sea-side bridal setup (on a yacht) – we will do the heavy lifting; you focus on snapping away.
Our retreat is different than others. We’re creating content for YOUR brand.
Potential clients crave a peek into your online world. Couples are eager to forge a connection with you. They want to witness your passion in action, not just the polished outcome. Showcasing video and photo snippets of your authentic self (doing what you love) is key.
Retreats are a great way to get content of yourself. But, unless you stay purposeful, or you might miss capturing those moments on retreats. Yes, you can rely on other photographers to grab those shots, but you might lose them in the abyss of memory cards or lost connections.

Dream Client:
An elopement photographer’s clients wants to book a multi-location photography & videography package with us (at our top-valued package). They’re adventurous, playful and conversation is natural. While they enjoy riffing unique ideas, they trust us and appreciate our vision and sense of artistry. They see paying us for our work as an investment. We won’t ever need to justify our rates. They love working with us and share a sense of creative chemistry. It feels easy. Our setup will offer one “dream couple” to showcase this concept.

Life itself is a story, our couples have a love story, our brand has a story. Let’s understand the intricacies of how stories work and why they resonate with us, how we can leverage stories in our art and our words to compel clients to want to work with us. We will utilize Storybrand framework and methods from Pixar and other incredible storytellers to hone in our brand, gain clarity on how we fit into our client’s hero’s journey, and how to market directly to them.
Friday – The Science of Connection
The most powerful way to get ahead is through connection. After all, it’s not what you know; it’s who you know. With a BA in Science, Samantha teaches how to barter professionally, the skill to find & negotiate with vendors (lowering the cost of experience = more money in your pocket) & build an intentional business circle.
What to Expect
It’s an excellent chance to see, learn from, and exchange ideas with accomplished photographers. A higher-caliber workshop will offer insight and expertise photographers cannot find elsewhere. If you want to expand into destination weddings & elopements, this retreat’s for you.
Adventure elopement photography is a niche that takes knowledge & skill to plan around. This retreat will teach you the expertise to pass on to future clients. It’s a great chance to create content with marketability and knowledge of the location.
Southern California offers diverse landscape opportunities. From the iconic Joshua Tree to the rugged cliffs of Mission Bay, opportunities abound to rock it out.
Our content retreat will keep to 10 photographers, excluding our team. Based on style, we’ll split into groups and rotate so that every photographer can capture each angle, including that sweet “middle” spot. All groups will take turns posing for the couple. You may shoot from the sides while other groups take their turn.

Not only that, but friends who share a common interest – adventure and photography- and share the same struggles as you. It’s precious. That’s what a retreat is, plus business and creative education.
- Time Away from Home: No matter where you’re at in life, we all need a break. Pull yourself away from routine laundry and grocery shopping and fully immerse yourself in something new, fun, and different.
- Bigger Investment, Bigger Reward: Content retreats are an investment. The more you put into something (not always just financially), the more you get out of it. Also, the deeper it will take you, the more your commitment to the craft will expand.
- Inspire: Even seasoned photographers will find new inspiration and drive here. Challenge yourself to step outside the box.
- Organizing Done: We’ve planned the locations, models, vendor setups, and meals throughout the day so you can show up and focus on photography.
FAQs:
Cancellation or Rescheduling: A deposit of $500 is non-refundable. You are responsible for the remaining balance if you cannot attend the shoot and need to cancel. You may transfer the ticket to someone else.
Skipping Out: It’s totally okay to say “no thank you” if there’s a portion of the retreat – a session, workshop, or mediation – you do not want to participate in. You are your own human, and can do what you need to do. We will not be able to change our schedule to accommodate.
Payment Plan & Deposit: The deposit is non-refundable and used to hold your spot at the retreat. The remaining balance is based on the payment plan you choose. All payments are due by April 1st, 2024.
Attendees: Ten tickets will be sold to the retreat. There will be a total of 12 people shooting, including my team. We will divide into three groups of four photographers. The photographers will take turns rotating out for center shots and directing the posing that fits their unique style.
Meals: Lunch will be provided on Thursday and Friday.
Lodging: Your ticket does not include lodging.
Luxury Boat Option: Our intention will be to book a yacht. However, due to availability and ticket sales, we will be booking what’s available for the date/time.
Travel: We will be carpooling as much as possible to each location. Flights and rental cars are not included.You will want to fly into San Diego National airport.
